Summary: We arrived in Annecy by train, so the location of the apartment near the station was very convenient for us. The apartment is in a residential area, but also right next to a very modern shopping centre (not noisy) which has some lovely shops and a handy supermarket. We didn't have a car, so walked everywhere with our two young children. It took us about 20min to walk to the lake via the old town. The apartment was clean, very nicely appointed, and was spacious with a large balcony. The owner met us at the apartment was very kind and helpful. We've been to Annecy a few times before, and love it, although August is a very busy time to visit. If you have young children and the weather's good, the lake beaches are great. The open air swimming pool is fantastic, with 3 pools, a toddler pool and a water jet play area; there's a restaurant, grassy areas to sit and play, on and it's really good value (by English standards!).
