Summary: Waasili is an incredibly unique place to stay, and we would thoroughly recommend it.It is in the centre of a rural village. Very quiet and peaceful with mainly just the sound of the countryside. Within 20 minutes we were in the nearest town (Selestat) for all our shopping requirements (there is also a patisserie/local store two doors away), and the Rhine 20 minutes in the opposite direction with a very straightforward free ferry across if visiting Europapark just beyond.The apartment was set within a traditional barn next to the owners house. Pierre was very helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. There is covered parking, and wooden steps within the barn up to the private door of the property. Although the apartment has been created to fit within the surroundings, it is well equipped to modern standards (dishwasher, microwave, etc) with very good air conditioning in the main living area and in the 2 upstairs double bedrooms. There is a bedroom with bunk beds next to the main living area, and also a good sized bathroom with washing machine and tumble drier.The stairs up to the 2 main bedrooms are quite steep, and once in the rooms, you need to take care not to bang your head on the sloping roof. Good blackout blinds to keep out the light and heat. There is also a shower room / toilet on this floor.Bianca, the neighbour’s lovely cat, will pay regular visits if you let her (we did!).Good base for Colmar, Strasbourg, Vosges Mountains and Europapark.
