The house is set back from the street, surrounded by greenery on all sides, abutted by the Bourne Conservation Trust, with walking trails leading to local marshlands and marinas.
Just 1.15 from Boston and 5 minutes from the shining sea bikeway, the house offers immediate access to the many beaches of buzzards bay.
With high speed WiFi, it's also great for remote work.
Cataumet is the last village in Bourne township, nestled along the coast of buzzards bay, between Pocasset and North Falmouth. It hosts both Parkers boat yard and Kingman Marina, as well as several coves. On foot one can explore woods and salt water marshes or go for a swim at Squeteague Harbor. There's a public tennis court by the historic school house and a post office square with a playground. There's a small commercial strip with a fresh fish , coffee, mini golf / games, ice cream, original kids clothing designs and a couple bars/restaurants. There are also several farm stands that sell local meat, eggs and produce.
By car, just 5 minutes away, North Falmouth hosts the closest public beach (Megansett) as well as the shining sea bikeway that skirts coastal marshland all the way to woods hole.
Falmouth (20 mins), Plymouth(30 mins) and Hyannis(50 mins) are the closest commercial centers.
Woods Hole & the Martha's Vineyard Ferry is just 30 mins away.
The driveway accommodates 3 cars comfortably. Bring a bike if you can - many great beaches (chapaquoit, black, woodneck, falmouth, trunk river) are accessible via the Shining Sea Bikeway.
