Leave harried city life behind, get up close to nature and recharge at our getaway just a short 2-1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities. Our lake home rests on a 6-1/2 acre wooded lot off the shore of Bass Lake: a private, quiet, 120 acre lake and part of the Ossawinnamakee chain, where it is common to see deer, loons, eagles, trumpeter swans, beavers and fox.
Our lake home features four bedrooms, 2 baths and comfortably sleeps eight people. The main level includes an open floor plan with an equipped kitchen, dining table for 8, wood burning fireplace, living area with game table and expansive windows to take in the view. Down the hall leads to a full bathroom and three bedrooms. A generous seasonal porch with comfortable lounge seating and dining area, rounds out the main level living. An outdoor gas grill is conveniently located off the porch.
The lower level includes a family room with stone gas fireplace and a ping pong table. A 3/4 bath, bedroom and laundry room complete the space.
A partially covered patio provides abundant outdoor living space in both shade and sun or grab an Adirondack chair closer to the lake or fire pit.
Two canoes, two kayaks and a 12' Lund row boat are on site for exploring the lake. Please note that there is no public access point to launch your own boat. You'll likely see turtles sunning on the rocks, blue herons, loons, and, of course, fish. You'll make your way through winding creeks entering the other lakes or row the fishing boat out to see what's biting. Staying closer to shore, enjoy swimming off the floating dock, curling up with a book in the hammock, or sitting on the dock for a glimpse of an eagle as it soars over head. An expansive lawn provides ample space for sunning and lawn games. At dusk gather around the fire pit to enjoy the warmth, toast marshmallows, and plan your next day's activities as the day comes to a close.
Out and about there are plenty of dining choices, quaint shopping, golfing and other recreational activities available in nearby Crosslake, Nisswa and downtown Pequot Lakes.
